Why should my Agency choose you?

Lighting-fast Responsiveness

Whether it is response to emails, support for a small project or a customized website build I provide extremely fast communication. I like to keep the ball moving and timely communication is the main driving force behind fluid projects. I am dedicated to providing an amazing experience for the agencies I work with thought timely, thorough communication.

Timely Turnaround

I can typically turn a site around in 4-6 weeks or even less! I run a lean ship allowing me to focus time on proficient, quality development. Assuming all assets are provided to me in a timely manner you will be shocked with how quickly I can spin up a website without sacrificing quality. Years of fine-tuning my process, creating reusable code and relying on quality plug-ins allow me to provide the quality I require and the speed you’ll love.

Reasonable Pricing

I offer agencies extremely reasonable pricing on all projects allowing them to keep more of their revenue. As a solopreneur my expenses are very low, thus I am able to turn that in to more affordable pricing for you without sacrificing quality! Website build projects range from $1,500-$10,000+ but typically fall in the $3,000-$6,000 range.

Quality Code

Often under-appreciated is the quality of the code used on a website. I take pride in ensuring my code is clean and well-commented ensuring it is future proof even if another developer is brought in. Not only is this good for the longevity of the website, it also ensures websites will perform well and new features can be added with ease if needed. Additionally, quality code and quality plugins help ensure compatibility with future versions of WordPress.

Innovative Solutions You’ll Love

I am often approached by my agency partners with customer requests they aren’t sure how to handle. I love crafting solutions to solve these types of inquiries in a way that is simple for the end user that makes your agency look like a star! Using my expertise I know the capabilities and limits of WordPress and will help you create innovative solutions that your clients will love.

More than a Developer

I am dedicated to creating a long lasting relationship with my Agency Partners. I often credit invoices for referrals to my hosting and website care plans as a simple thank you. The lines of communication are always open and you aren’t going to get billed for asking questions and prompting me for my suggestions. I feel as though that is a crucial part of an Agency/Developer relationship.

Easy to Update Sites

One of the main features to each of my websites is a customized back end that allows clients to easily update their sites without the need for a dedicated support person, monthly fees or any coding skills. Simple options pages, custom post types and simple input fields allow you to manage all aspects of your site without touching any code. Additionally, I provide customized how-to videos after development is complete so you and your staff have a visual tutorial to reference in the future.

What is your Development Process like?

Discovery and Project Scoping

The first step to any development project is the discovery and project scoping stage. In this stage we will cover the following:

  • Discuss your current website (if you have one) and what you like/don’t like about it
  • Discuss your overall business goals and what you would like to accomplish with your website
  • Discuss your customer demographics and the best way to target them with your new site
  • Discuss any advanced functionality you may need (eCommerce, custom features, etc…)
  • Discuss design options and look at other sites you like/dislike
  • Discuss budget and timeframe

Wire-frames and Base Design

After we have a full scope of the project and some other business-related things have been taken care of we move to the wire-framing and design phase. Based on previous discussion we will either work with one of my recommended designers, or work with my wire-framing tool to create a base design for your site.

Additionally we will work on a Style Guide that will include the following:

  • Base fonts to be used
  • Base colors and variants to be used
  • Font sizing for headers and content

You will receive either fully designed examples or wire-frame examples via PDF files throughout the design process to provide feedback. We will adjust to your needs prior to development.

Here are a few examples for reference:

Development

After the design is complete we move in to development. This is where I take the designs and turn them in to a website. Your site will be built in a staging area so you can follow along and provide feedback throughout the process. All functionality will be built and tested. The development process includes:

  • Create all page templates
  • Install and configure all needed plugins
  • Create advanced functionality such as custom post types, shortcodes, custom theme options, eCommerce setup, etc…
  • All styling work including responsive design
  • Addition of all copy and basic SEO work

Site Review & Launch

After development is complete we will go through a thorough review of the site including:

  • A page-by-page run-through of the site to test links and proofread copy
  • Functionality testing to ensure everything is working including forms, eCommcerce, custom post types, email subscription automation, lead generation, etc…
  • Browser and responsive testing to ensure the site renders properly across all modern browsers and devices
  • 301 redirect check to ensure all current site URLs are pointed properly to preserve SEO

Additionally, if needed, I will provide training videos for each aspect of the site for you to reference in the future. This ensures you can easily edit your site at any time.

Once all of the testing is complete and you give the green light we pick a day/time to take it live. If the site will be staying with your current host the changeover will be instantaneous. If you are moving to my hosting it can take 24-48 for DNS to propagate.

After the site is live we’ll go through it one more time to ensure everything is working properly.

Frequently Asked Agency Development Questions

Do you offer a discounted rate for Agencies?

Yes, I do. Please contact me and we can discuss.

Do you prioritize agency work over client work?

I am very transparent and will respond to your requests in a timely manner. Depending on my current workload and the nature of your inquiry I can prioritize agency request if needed. This would be limited to extreme situations like websites being down or hacks. If you simply want a site done immediately, it will depend on my current workload as I cannot push other projects that I have contracts for.

My client already has a site but would like you to fix up some issues I’m having with it. Can you do that?

It depends. I will certainly take a look, but working on top of what is most likely old, dated code isn’t something I typically offer. My focus is building and customizing new sites as well as working with current and past clients. If this is a long-time client of yours I will do my best to help.

How much do full website projects cost?

Again, it depends. Prices can range from $1,500 to $10,000+ depending on the full scope of your project. Typically projects fall in the $3,000-$6,000 range. I’d be happy to discuss your needs and give you an estimate.

How long will it take to build my site?

There are a few factors that come in to play here including the scope of the project, how quickly you can provide the assets needed for the site and the speed in which you communicate. Typically sites take 4-6 weeks, but if communication is slow, or if I am waiting on assets from you, it can slow down the process considerably.

You’ll learn quickly that I respond to emails very quickly and like to keep things moving. With that said, I understand things take time. All I ask is for timely and transparent communication throughout the process.

What plugins/themes do you typically use for your sites?

I use the Genesis Framework for all of my sites with my own Base Child Theme as a starting point. The Genesis Framework provides the backbone and my Base Child Theme is a blank canvas ready for customization.

My go-to plugins include Advanced Custom Fields & Gravity Forms. They are included in 100% of my builds unless the client has another form preference. Other plugins I typically use include WooCommerce, Simple 301 Redirects, Easy Digital Downloads, Genesis Simple Share, WP Migrate DB, Yoast SEO, Akismet, AffiliateWP, User Switching, WP Featherlight and WP Smush.

I also include my own Core Functionality Plugin where I handle all non-theme functionality like Custom Post Types, Shortcodes and taxonomies. That way should you ever need to change themes, you won’t lose that core functionality.

Do you offer graphic design services?

While I am fluent with Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop and I do a good deal of design work for my website development process, graphic design services are something I do not offer. While I’m happy to tweak a logo or create a mockup for a project, I do not take on graphic design projects. I am happy to refer to one of my preferred designers if needed.
